One Fight We All Unite – It’s Our NHS – by Melissa Darcey (NHS Editor)
Saturday 25th February saw local campaign groups across the country unite together on their streets to fight against their local hospital closures, cuts and privatisation.
Among the campaign groups were:
“Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital” – who held a march and rally against the partial closure of Grantham A&E and future downgrade of the department to an Urgent Care Centre. This was attended by around 3000 people including other local campaigns “Fighting 4 Life Lincolnshire”, “SOS Grantham Hospital” and “Keep Our NHS Public Nottingham”.
Relatively new campaign “Parents against cuts to Bassetlaw Children’s Ward” – who held their first community march and rally in Worksop which was attended by around 500 people uniting against the partial closure of their local Children’s Ward.
“Protect Chorley Hospital from cuts and privatisation” – who held a vigil outside Chorley Hospital, many people attended in the rain to unite against the partial closure of their local A&E.

Many campaign groups from across England are now preparing for what is set to be the BIGGEST NHS PROTEST this country has EVER seen – Saturday 4th March @ 12pm in Tavistock Square London will see Doctors, nurses, staff, patients, public and NHS campaigners join together to say NO! to Cuts, Closures, Pay Restraints and Privatisation,
We want OUR NHS – Publicly Funded, Publicly Owned and Publicly Managed!
