Today marks the culmination of 12 months of baiting, vitriol, lies and two campaigns for the leadership of the Labour Party that should have never been fought in the first place.
In the last 12 months we have been called trots, antisemites, a rabble, thugs, Nazi stormtroopers.
We have been accused of violence, criminal damage, of being terrorist sympathisers.
We have been told the labour we want is unelectable, that Britain does not that have the appetite for a a progressive democratic socialist government in waiting.
Well against all the odds, all the lies and the establishment and media collusion. Only 12 months after the largest mandate in British political history, we've done it again. We have proved to the party machinations that we do want a progressive democratic socialist government in waiting, we want equality and equity for all.
We have proved that the country wants change and we will affect and see change.
In the words of the late Bob Crow “if you fight, you won't always win, but if you don't fight you will always lose”
Well today we won and what a victory it is.
